What the House offers families
Facilities
- 50 private guest bedrooms with private bath, phone with voicemail, and TV; wheelchair accessible rooms are also available
- Four computers with high speed internet and wireless internet throughout the House
- Fitness center
- Four laundry rooms with washers and dryers (50 cents for each machine)
- A teen room for teens aged 12-16 equipped with big screen TV, foosball and ping pong
- 5 kitchen stations including stovetop, oven, microwave and refrigerator
- 4 different play rooms
- Library
- State of the art media room
- Outside playground
- Outside smoking patio
Services
- We have a van that can supply transportation to and from shopping centers or grocery and drug stores, when we are staffed with a driving volunteer.
- For transportation to and from duPont Hospital for Children, there is a shuttle service.
- If you need transportation from the airport or train station or to another hospital, or if you need transportation that is equipped with a wheelchair lift, please give us 24-hours notice. To arrange this you must speak with the Ronald McDonald House Social Worker or the Manager on Duty.
- Short stature accessibility kits are available upon request.
- A cooked dinner is provided for families each evening for free. Our kitchen is also stocked with free food for breakfast, lunch and dinner.
- Activities are provided on a regular basis such as: movie night in our state of the art media room, free haircuts in our salon, arts & crafts for children and adults, and pet therapy with certified pet therapy dogs.
