The Ronald McDonald House is truly the "House That Love Built". With the generosity and support of the community, we are able to provide a "home away from home" for families during a time when family is needed most. There are many ways to get involved!
In addition to monetary donations, there many other ways to contribute to the Ronald McDonald House of Delaware such as holding a Wish List Drive, collecting pop tabs, or assembling Family Care Kits.
One of the ways to help the House is through our aluminum Pop Tab Recycling Program. We recycle aluminum pop tabs. The safest bet is tabs from soda cans. However, you can check with a magnet to see if they're aluminum: if they're steel or a different metal, they will stick to the magnet, while aluminum tabs will not. The money from the Pop Tab Program goes to pay everyday costs, including coverage of families' stays. Pop tabs can be donated to the House any day of the week between 9am and 9pm.
You can help the House by simply organizing a drive or collecting items that help serve our families. Everything we provide to families comes from our Wish List. Organizing a drive also helps us get the word out about our mission. Types of drives are:
On-the-Go Meal Kits, Activity Kits, and Toiletry Kits are all appreciated by the families using our Ronald McDonald Family Room Programs at local hospitals. The kits help to bring the welcoming touches of home to families while they spend time at the hospital during their child's treatment.
